[00:00:04] Speaker A: Shmoopy schmoopster. [00:00:06] Speaker B: I'm so happy to be back. [00:00:09] Speaker A: Yeah, it's good. [00:00:10] Speaker B: A little hiatus there. I don't think we'll ever take that kind of hiatus, I hope. You know what? It was a delicious hiatus. [00:00:16] Speaker A: It was delicious. [00:00:17] Speaker B: Yeah, we did a lot of things. Did some traveling, did some projects. [00:00:21] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:00:21] Speaker B: All kinds of stuff. What did you want to talk about? A lot of. [00:00:24] Speaker A: A lot of work, though. [00:00:25] Speaker B: You got a lot of work. [00:00:26] Speaker A: Oh, we're not gonna complain as an actress now. Called actor. [00:00:31] Speaker B: Yeah, sure. [00:00:31] Speaker A: Non specific. [00:00:32] Speaker B: Non specific. [00:00:33] Speaker A: We don't want to talk about your porn career right now. [00:00:35] Speaker B: No, that'll be later. [00:00:38] Speaker A: We had jets flying overhead. When I say jets, I mean. [00:00:41] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:00:42] Speaker A: Naval fighter jets. [00:00:44] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:00:44] Speaker A: Not often that you're sitting around casually on a Monday. Monday afternoon listening to fighter jets or actually watching them. [00:00:53] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:00:54] Speaker A: Fly over your house or your cottage. [00:00:58] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:00:59] Speaker A: That's what's going on. [00:01:00] Speaker B: Yeah. And. And what do you feel about that? [00:01:02] Speaker A: I feel that we. It's all wonderful. I feel super protected. [00:01:10] Speaker B: I wish we'd take the money of that fuel jet. [00:01:14] Speaker A: I wish we could just take. [00:01:15] Speaker B: And put it into education. [00:01:16] Speaker A: Billion dollars. Out of the trillions we spend on defense. What are we defending if everybody's a stupid fucking babe? That's intense. Seriously. [00:01:27] Speaker B: Yeah. Agreed. Agreed. [00:01:29] Speaker A: But as George Carlin pointed out in 2008 before he died during one of his great speeches. [00:01:34] Speaker B: Oh, I love that speech. [00:01:35] Speaker A: They want you stupid. [00:01:36] Speaker B: They want. They want to keep you stupid. [00:01:38] Speaker A: Keep you stupid. You don't want a highly educated public that can make rational decisions and take input from sources and now realize they're getting, you know what the. You know what? [00:01:50] Speaker B: Huh? [00:01:50] Speaker A: That's the way he put it. [00:01:51] Speaker B: That is how he put it. [00:01:52] Speaker A: And he's right. So they don't want to pay for education. So the education keeps getting shittier and shittier. [00:01:58] Speaker B: Yep. [00:01:59] Speaker A: And we spend more and more and more and more and more and more and more on bombs. [00:02:04] Speaker B: Great. [00:02:05] Speaker A: Yep. We send a lot of them overseas, which is tragic and disgusting. And it's. [00:02:14] Speaker B: So what are we gonna do? So what are we gonna do? How are we gonna help? [00:02:17] Speaker A: Not sure we're doing it. Not sure we can do anything. [00:02:20] Speaker B: Nothing. [00:02:20] Speaker A: Because as George also pointed out, the politicians are bought and paid for. So what do you do? You do. You do podcasts, shmoopy. Try to get as many people thinking about as possible. It's gross. [00:02:34] Speaker B: Asking the questions. [00:02:35] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:02:36] Speaker B: So they can keep asking the questions. [00:02:38] Speaker A: Yeah. But things are so screwed up to the point of, I think, sadly and unfortunate Never thought. Is it ideally when, you know, you grow up in school and they teach you all about, oh, nature and birds and butterflies and. [00:02:55] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:02:56] Speaker A: Dolphins and whales and lions. [00:02:58] Speaker B: Oh, my. [00:02:59] Speaker A: Yeah. And you kind of think, oh, you know, we're in a good place. The world's wonderful. This is what we can do. You know, and then you grow up and you realize. [00:03:10] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:03:11] Speaker A: Is that the. [00:03:12] Speaker B: That's the wind. [00:03:13] Speaker A: That's the wind chime going off in the. Making the noise. [00:03:16] Speaker B: No, I think there was a boss of wind. [00:03:18] Speaker A: Oh, really? And then you realize how screwed up things really are and how corrupt everything is. And I think we've reached the point of no return. [00:03:28] Speaker B: You think so? [00:03:29] Speaker A: And there's. We live in two countries. We live in the US And Canada. [00:03:33] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:03:34] Speaker A: One's way more screwed up than the other. [00:03:37] Speaker B: Yes. [00:03:38] Speaker A: And I think it's past the point of no return. It's so screwed up, so corrupt. And there's so much money in the politics and the lobbying. Foreign lobbyists, domestic lobbyists. [00:03:53] Speaker B: It's a little bit sad. It's a bit of a sad podcast. [00:03:56] Speaker A: The country's lost. It is a sad podcast. So I guess what we can do is. [00:04:00] Speaker B: What can we do? [00:04:01] Speaker A: Happy podcasts. Moving forward and to help people. Help people deal with the fact that they're getting. You know what. [00:04:10] Speaker B: You know what? [00:04:13] Speaker A: Pretty much. Yeah. Sucks, eh? [00:04:16] Speaker B: It does. I want to do something about it, though. [00:04:18] Speaker A: That's reality. [00:04:20] Speaker B: It is. But I mean, we'll go back to the connection and loving your neighbor and what can you do in your own backyard and how you can help people. [00:04:30] Speaker A: It takes a village. [00:04:31] Speaker B: Takes a village. But also, I think, you know, I know it's so basic, but I'm going to go back to. You smile when you meet somebody in the street. [00:04:41] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:04:41] Speaker B: You say hi. You help your neighbors unpack their car. [00:04:45] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:04:45] Speaker B: You carry stuff for somebody who's older. [00:04:48] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:04:49] Speaker B: You do all that make people feel good. Yeah. [00:04:51] Speaker A: Take care of business on a micro level. [00:04:53] Speaker B: I think so. Because if not, we get stuck now. [00:04:57] Speaker A: Just in case that big wind gust screwed us up for. [00:05:00] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:05:01] Speaker A: Six seconds. We'll go six seconds over and make an edit. [00:05:03] Speaker B: Oh, yeah. [00:05:04] Speaker A: And then when they realize that it's because there was a wind gust, but if not, we're going to be six seconds long. [00:05:11] Speaker B: Schmoop. Love your neighbor.
